I found an item! :D

This is a short bit of filming I did a while back for a vlog I was going to do about me buying Twilight Princess and then playing it constantly till the very last second. Unfortunately, I never got round to making the video and I have now completed the game and am on my second play though. So it’s never going to happen really.
Anyway, this is what I did. Thanks to my dad for holding the game box on a piece of string and spinning it around for me. I used an old lamp for the yellow lighting and used some white string to suspend the game box in the air. I used photoshop for the banner at the end
ENJOY!

Skyward Sword release date
Aug 17th
It was officially confirmed by Nintendo that the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be released on the 18th of November in Europe and the 20th of November in America.
The date of release is the same throughout Europe.
That is all, only a short news report. Not much to say really but it’s great to have an official date for the games release.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (2011 trailer)
Jun 14th
This is the new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This is the first trailer we’ve seen so far that gives us a rough idea of story and plot, as the previous trailers focused more on the integration of Motion Plus into the gameplay.
Enjoy, and please let me know what your thoughts are for this new addition to this classic series.
Lego Indiana Jones 2 review (Wii)
May 25th
The Lego series of games has been a very popular one and throughout it’s first phase as Star Wars, it was extremely popular and still is to this day. This is a series that most of us are bound to be familiar with in some shape or form, and is certainly the best out of all the Lego game franchises. In a strong second place is Lego Indiana Jones, and this is the second in the series, and most people view it as the best… I’m not quite so sure.
My grudge for this game is in the multi player, it has added a split screen mode which I am not really a fan of. In the previous Lego games, it was all about being together, doing things together and arguing with the person next to you which way you were going to go. None of that is left here. Personally, I feel that the game isn’t the same with the split screen, and now that the new Lego Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean game has adopted it, I don’t think any Lego multi player game will ever be the same again.
The level design is excellent, and while the Star Wars games focused more on battling than puzzle elements, it is a nice change to have some serious head scratching to keep you playing, and there are some nice weapons and items that add good depth to the game play, and once you unlock the characters with these abilities they allow you to unlock more levels, and more abilities as you play on.
They also change up the game play a bit by adding vehicles into the mix. This tends to be a bit of a brawling kind of scenario where you drive into other cars to destroy them and jump into other cars, kicking out their drivers to take control. This allows you to get stronger cars that allow you to destroy enemy vehicles in a much easier way and to be able to take more damage.
Once you have completed a main level in the story mode you can play it again with different objectives and game play elements. For example, if in the first version of a level you were fighting loads of bad guys, in the second play though you will be in the same area, only with more of a puzzle element as well.
When playing some extra levels you may need to have a character with a certain attribute, ability or weapon. The characters you need to play these levels are vital if you want to complete the game 100%, and you will need to complete different levels as well as earn money to buy these Lego people to play the levels. This can add up to a lot of game time but can get very tiresome.
The character creator has returned from Lego Star Wars 2, and there are now even more creation modes allowing you to build your own levels, and even your own adventures, by selecting which levels you would like to play and in what order you would like to play them. I really enjoyed the level creator and, while it did have it’s limitations, it was still a worthy addition. I only wish that the game included an online feature that allowed you to share your levels with other people all over the world. This would make for a great community and infinite replay value. The lack of online is a shame as all the levels you create are only viewable on your own console. The lack of this feature is totally unacceptable for a game released in 2009.
Saving your characters is now improved as you have save slots that you can build your Lego men in, save them, create some more, and then you can come back and play with your previous ones. In the previous character creators in Lego you could only have two saved characters at a time, which is quite disappointing sometimes as you could make something really great, and then not be able to make something else unless you destroy your creation, so this is a really positive feature.
Even with the lack of online, you can still share your creations with your friends on their own systems. The character creator generates a code which you can pass on to a friend to put in their console and it will build the character you have built. This is great as it can work on any console and a character can be ported from my Wii to my friend’s PS3 and then onto his friend’s Xbox 360 without any problems, as long as the code is entered correctly. Of course, with this kind of passing on of such long and seemingly random codes it will be easy for Chinese Whispers to come out and mess up your creation, but it is a nice feature. You can also add codes on forums and websites which would allow you to share your creation, not only to people on the same gaming network, but to everyone in the world who owns the game.
Story wise, most of the films from Lego Indiana Jones 1 are here, just altered to give you new game play, but it’s basically all the same plot wise. The main addition to the story mode is the “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” where you can play though the entire film and explore the world hubs themed around them. Yes, I said hub”S”. They built three hubs around different sections of the story. My personal favourite is the last one, because it has spaceships! Two of them in fact, one is big, and once built, it will take you off to a bonus level. The other one you can buy and fly around in! Now that is quality game design!
I mentioned the bonus levels, once you’ve completed all the levels in each hub and collected all the Mini-Kit treasure chests at the end of each of them, you can build an array of different things in each hub world that will take you off to a bonus level..
I have a personal preference to the Wii version with the Wii remote functions, where you can point when using projectiles, and other similar items that involve aiming, and can fire exactly at what you want to. This is better for me than using dual analogue sticks but this can be put down to personal preference. The numchuck joystick does everything you would hope it to, and the buttons don’t seem unsuited to their job. Motion controls are also included in this which I did use a lot when playing as Indiana Jones. You can shake the Wiimote and Indy shakes his whip. This can be useful in a room full of enemies, you can plough them down by hitting them with the whip. My only gripe with the controls are with the swords, as when you shake the Wiimote the character throws the sword instead of swinging it like the lightsabers in the Wii Lego Star Wars games. This is a bit of a downside for me but nothing that stops me playing the game.
To summarise, in my opinion this is a good game. It is good fun in single player and is a blast with it’s multi player, even if I would prefer it to be the same that it was before, but I must admit, split screen does have it’s advantages as it allows you and a friend to solve more complex puzzles. So I think this is worth a buy, and is good on whatever console you play it on. It is available on the Wii, PS3, Xbox360 and even on the PS2 and iOS systems.
However you play this game, it should provide you with a lot of entertainment and while I wouldn’t suggest it as your first Lego game, if you enjoyed any of the other games or if you like Indiana Jones, this is one you should definitely add to your games library.
Move, Kinect and Wii comparisons
Feb 9th
Today I was able to test out some of gamings latest technological creations. The PSmove and the Xbox 360 Kinect. I also own the Nintendo Wii and Wii motion plus. So finally I am able to compare all the motion controlled systems to see which you should own and if my beloved Wii is still on top.
First I tried the PSWii… umm… sorry I mean move! Lets be honest, apart from a slightly sexier shape for the controller and

Playstation 3, Move Controller and Playstation eye
aglowing pink ball on the end is nearly the same thing as Wii motion plus only somehow, this thing feels a bit off. It didn’t feel right when playing table tennis and I think Wii sports resort makes you more active that move. It just doesn’t seem to work as well and feels a little over sensitive and the controller doesn’t fit in the hand all that well and the buttons feel out of reach. I also watched other people playing the game and they had problems when playing Frisbee golf.

Kinect bundle
Kinect is completely different as for this there is no controller! But that leads to a few issues, because as brilliant as the technology is, you need some kind of pointer or joy stick to go with it. It dosn’t work all that well by it’self and has a bit of a delay between you doing the actions and them being imitated in screen. But it was very effective at bowling although a little dull and didn’t have the same enjoyment factor of Wii Sports.
So, that brings us back to the Wii, and to be honest, I’m happy with it for now. As great as the other systems are they just don’t have the software to make them worth buying at the moment, and more to the point, the Wii is alot cheaper than buying an Xbox 360 and Kinect or a PS3 and the Move controllers and the camera. Also, the games currently for Kinect are very expensive in comparison to the other consoles yet aren’t all that enjoyable. For now at least, get yourself a Wii with a Wii remote plus, it won’t let you down.
Is the Wii going to have a good 2011?
Feb 6th
It’s a question worth asking because the known line-up for the Wii in 2011 isn’t all that big, but the games we are going to have look pretty good. We’ve gotthe Conduit 2 as well as Mario Sports Mix coming out soon (Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword has been delayed till 2012), but apart from that there is no need to be excited for the software line-up. So will there be many good games on the Wii this year? IGN has had it’s speculation that it might not but I’m thinking otherwise.
There are a lot of classic Nintendo franchises to bring back for a new game on the Wii. Starfox hasn’t had a good game since his N64 appearance and if the Wii could use the flight controls used in Wii Sports Resort island flyover for this it would be a must own for any fan of the series.
Another game I would like to see is Pikmin 3! If it could feature bright and colourful graphics like the ones in Mario Galaxy 2 ect and use the same controls as it’s “new play control” predecessors it

Will a Pikmin 3 be hitting our shelves in 2011?
would be a great game! They could also bring back the multilayer featured in Pikmin 2 and could now have it online as well, also using the Wii speak allowing the accessory to have it’s first use in a game for a very long time. Who knows! Maybe you might be able to play as your Mii instead of Olimar and could also add some extra characters as well. A new Pikmin game is actually very likely as Shigeru Miyamoto said in an interview with IGN during 2007 “I certainly don’t think we’ve seen the last of Pikmin. I definitely would like to do something with them, and I think the Wii interface in particular is very well suited to that franchise.” Pikmin is long overdue a sequel and I think Nintendo are planning one.
A Super Mario game might also be on it’s way as there was Galaxy in 2009 and Galaxy 2 in 2010, could there be a new game coming out this year as well? The problem is that the last two entries in the Super Mario series are some of the best games ever made and certainly the best games on the Wii. Can Mario beat his past efforts, or will we just be disappointed with the result? I don’t think it will top the Galaxies but I do think that if Mario has another game on Wii it will be truly brilliant in it’s own way.
What about games being ported over from the PS3 and xbox 360? How about Call of Duty? The recent games have shown promise that they can make the transaction over to the Wii with good graphics, and most importantly, Blackops didn’t remove most of the features that the other consoles had meaning that you where left with just the campain in titles previous to Modern Warfare along side online multilayer. But blackops had all the extra things that the PS3 and Xbox had like zombies ect and even classic controller and gamecube controller support. The only thing it didn’t have was split screen multiplayer. But the next Call of Duty on Wii probably will probably have this feature as more and more Wii shooters are coming onto the market with it. We’ve already had Goldeneye and with Conduit 2 on the way with it’s new split screen feature I’m sure the next CoD entry to Wii will defiantly be able to live up to it’s PS3 and Xbox 360 brothers.
And obviously, there are hundreds of developers pumping out games for Wiiware, a place that is known to have many good concepts and ideas that tend to be carried out very effectively, and you can buy them for a good price!
So I think 2011 will be an ok year for the Wii, but not as big as 2010. Althrough there could be any number of games that Nintendo are hiding from us. For now through, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Wii remote plus hardware review
Jan 6th

If your fussy about the colour, you can have the Wii remote plus in all the same colours as the original. You can also now get the Wii remote plus in red
With the motion control market constantly getting more complex by the day, Nintendo had to up it’s game a bit. For a while they have been selling the Wii motion plus acsessory but with more and more
2D platformers coming out in the system it’s difficult to use the Wii remote on it’s side when the motion plus accessory is on the end of it, and of course you need to take the acsessory off to put the Wii remote in shells like the Wii wheel or Wii zapper.
“So what’s the solution?” I hear you cry. Well Nintendo had the brilliant idea of creating a new Wii remote, but this time round it has motion plus… BUILT IN!!!!! I discovered allot when playing with the accessory, for reasons I still do not understand, I would have to recalibrate motion plus allot. But playing through Wii sports resort with the new controller I didn’t have to recalibrate it once. Start up the game, calibrate it on my first game but then never again.
This is a huge improvement over the original wii remote and this also works with games which don’t work with Wii motion plus so you can play both Wii Sports and resort with one controller with no accessories needed.
Now this is also going to be sold with future wii consoles made so the Wii remote plus will become the standard controller for the Wii and then hopefully more and more games will use the technology allowing for better game play controls. No more badly controlled cheap mini games, we’re moving into the high quality minigame age of the Wii. I think no matter what Nintendo dose there will always be mini game compilations on the Wii, but that’s fine for me as well as they are good quality and they control well.
You can also buy the Wii remote plus (black) with a game called flingsmash and this only costs a couple of pounds more and if your willing to have a black controller with your white console or you have a black Wii, I would suggest picking it up.
Buying it new the Wii remote plus doesn’t cost much more than a new original Wii remote so I would suggest buying the newer controler as there are many motion plus games now on the market like Tiger Woods PGA tour 11, Wii sports resort, flingsmash, Redsteel 2 and of course the Zelda: Skyward Sword that is due to be released later this year. These are all games games that are loved, or greatly anticipated, and I hope more similar games will appear on the Wii in the future.
You can get the Wii remote plus in all the colours you can get the previous Wii remote in such as Black, White, Red and even Pink, Blue ect. If you have less than one Wii controller I would highly suggest picking this up to complete your controller collection. If you already have a Wii remote and motion plus and you have a bit of free cash you may want to consider getting this controller to replace it. But if you only have a classic Wii remote with no motion plus, you should go out and exchange it right away for the Wii remote plus. Because if you don’t, you’ll be missing out on some of the best motion controlled games to date. No matter what the platform, at the moment the Wii motion plus has a better library of games than both the Playstation move (or as I call it the PSWii) and Kinect.
Buy it now
