Wii remote plus hardware review

If your fussy about the colour, you can have the Wii remote plus in all the same colours as the original. You can also now get the Wii remote plus in red

With the motion control market constantly getting more complex by the day, Nintendo had to up it’s game a bit. For a while they have been selling the Wii motion plus acsessory but with more and more

2D platformers coming out in the system it’s difficult to use the Wii remote on it’s side when the motion plus accessory is on the end of it, and of course you need to take the acsessory off to put the Wii remote in shells like the Wii wheel or Wii zapper.

“So what’s the solution?” I hear you cry. Well Nintendo had the brilliant idea of creating a new Wii remote, but this time round it has motion plus… BUILT IN!!!!! I discovered allot when playing with the accessory, for reasons I still do not understand, I would have to recalibrate motion plus allot. But playing through Wii sports resort with the new controller I didn’t have to recalibrate it once. Start up the game, calibrate it on my first game but then never again.

This is a huge improvement over the original wii remote and this also works with games which don’t work with Wii motion plus so you can play both Wii Sports and resort with one controller with no accessories needed.

Now this is also going to be sold with future wii consoles made so the Wii remote plus will become the standard controller for the Wii and then hopefully more and more games will use the technology allowing for better game play controls. No more badly controlled cheap mini games, we’re moving into the high quality minigame age of the Wii. I think no matter what Nintendo dose there will always be mini game compilations on the Wii, but that’s fine for me as well as they are good quality and they control well.

You can also buy the Wii remote plus (black) with a game called flingsmash and this only costs a couple of pounds more and if your willing to have a black controller with your white console or you have a black Wii, I would suggest picking it up.

Buying it new the Wii remote plus doesn’t cost much more than a new original Wii remote so I would suggest buying the newer controler as there are many motion plus games now on the market like Tiger Woods PGA tour 11, Wii sports resort, flingsmash, Redsteel 2 and of course the Zelda: Skyward Sword that is due to be released later this year. These are all games games that are loved, or greatly anticipated, and I hope more similar games will appear on the Wii in the future.

You can get the Wii remote plus in all the colours you can get the previous Wii remote in such as Black, White, Red and even Pink, Blue ect. If you have less than one Wii controller I would highly suggest picking this up to complete your controller collection. If you already have a Wii remote and motion plus and you have a bit of free cash you may want to consider getting this controller to replace it. But if you only have a classic Wii remote with no motion plus, you should go out and exchange it right away for the Wii remote plus. Because if you don’t, you’ll be missing out on some of the best motion controlled games to date. No matter what the platform, at the moment the Wii motion plus has a better library of games than both the Playstation move (or as I call it the PSWii) and Kinect.
